Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to fame after releasing her debut album Age Ain't Nothing But a Number in 1994. Aaliyah Danahaughton was only fifteen when her debut album was released as Gold. The album was an album that was heavily influenced by R. Kelly and it put the singer in the limelight. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland on her album, One In A Million, featuring the number one hit track If Your Girl Only knew. Aaliyah was recognized internationally as a R&B performer with their release of the sophomore album One in a Million. Aarti Mann is an Indian-American from the one generation who was born in Connecticut. The stage name Mann is an abbreviation of her marital name Mankad. Aarti is at once Aarti as well as Aarti.
